Stronger together – bringing festive cheer to Demelza Hospice Care for Children

We’re proud sponsors of XL@Football Academy, so when it came to us supporting our charity partner’s Christmas appeal, we weren’t surprised that the teams wanted to help with bringing some early festive cheer to the children, their families and staff at Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Some of our colleagues together with players personally delivered over 120 presents to the hospice which were chosen from Demelza’s Wish List.

We also presented the hospice with a cheque for £5,000 and donated a number of gift vouchers for the hard working staff who will be working throughout the festive period, supporting children and their families.

Lavinia Jarrett, Acting Chief Executive, Demelza Hospice Care for Children commented, “Kent Reliance has supported Demelza since we opened in 1998 and we’ve enjoyed working together on a number of fundraising activities. We welcome the additional partnership with XL@Football Academy who together with Kent Reliance will be helping to support our fundraising goals in 2022.”

“This year has been particularly challenging for the hospice so the presents for the children and their families as well as for the hard working staff are absolutely wonderful.  The £5,000 donation is an unexpected surprise and will enable us to fund an additional 100 care hours so we’d like to thank everyone who has contributed in some way as it makes such a difference to us.”

Stuart Grist, Chief Executive Officer, XL@Football Academy said, “We feel honoured to be able to support Demelza and to meet some of the staff to thank them for their services.  Our new sponsorship programme with Kent Reliance has given us the opportunity to work together and help make a difference within our community and we’re all looking forward to doing even more in 2022.”
