of identity and address
verified electronically
in the first instance.
However, if you are
aged 16 - 18 further ID
will be required.
To open an account you
must provide proof of
name and address by producing
either a:
Current signed passport
OR Current UK photo-card
driving licence.
If neither of these
are available you must
produce two items from
the following list:
Bank building society
or credit card statement
containing current address
(issued or dated within
3 months); HM Revenue
& Customs tax notification
in respect of this current
tax year or from the previous
tax year (P45s and P60s
are not official HM Revenue
& Customs documents and
are not therefore acceptable);
Employee identity card
with photo and signature
from a well-known business;
Recent utility bill -
within 3 months (excluding
mobile phone bills); Local
Authority tax bill (valid
for the current year);
Current tenancy agreement;
Current Housing Association
rent book; Solicitor's
letter confirming recent
house purchase and previous
address.
Certified copies are accepted.
However, if supplying
a certified copy it should
be signed, dated, marked
'original seen' and bear
the name, address and
occupation of the certifier.
It can be certified by
a UK lawyer, banker, accountant,
teacher, doctor, minister
of religion, postmaster/sub-postmaster,
authorised financial intermediary
or similar professional. |
